Ok, we'll do the ATI driver and knock that out as a possibility.
**READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS THROUGH AT LEAST ONCE BEFORE FOLLOWING THEM**Print them out if you need to.
Download the driver
here, but
DON'T install it yet. Just save it to a conspicuous place like the Desktop. Take note of the disclaimer on that page...
"Support is available for Windows Vista and Windows 7 to be used at your own risk."Let's save a restore point in case something goes wrong (better to be safe than sorry). At the Start Menu, type
rstrui and hit Enter. Create a new System Restore point.
DO NOT proceed further until you do this step!!
Now, save all your work, close all open programs, and shut down the computer. Turn it back on, and as you see the TOSHIBA screen flash, start hitting the F8 key like it's going out of style. Keep hitting F8 until you see something like
this. Chose
Safe Mode and press Enter.
After it boots, log in as usual. Now, you should see a black desktop with some things that are out of order. Don't worry, this is normal with Safe Mode.
Start Menu > right-click
Computer >
Properties >
Device ManagerFind your graphics card. Right-click it and click
Uninstall. In the next window that pops up, be sure to check the "Delete the driver software for this device" option, and click OK. If it asks you to reboot (I don't remember if it will or not), please do so, but boot back into Safe Mode again. Once you are at the Desktop again (if it didn't ask you to reboot, then don't), double-click the driver you downloaded earlier and follow the prompts to install it.
DO NOT install Catalyst Control Center (CCC).
Reboot back into normal mode.
I know it seems like I'm taking you around the world, but I have found that that is the best way to clean up and update your graphics card drivers (Safe Mode, delete, reinstall). It's worked many times for me.
If you still have problems, give me a description of what is happening, and if you get any BSOD's, be sure to do another Bluescreenview log. If we find it is caused by the new graphics driver, simply roll your computer back to that Restore point we made earlier.
But let's just hope that fixes it.

Any problems or questions with the instructions I just gave you? If anything is unclear, be sure to ask questions before proceeding.
