17 August 2019

Still using Windows 1809 and keeping version 1903 on hold until later.

Latest bulletin on 1903 is - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-information/status-windows-10-1903

That article linked was dated as July16, 2019.  The feeling seems to be, and what other knowledgable members here have said,  if our computer tells us that IT is ready for v1903, then we should click on the link in Updates under Settings for "Download and Install".    Some time late in July,  I finally involuntarily took v1903 on one machine, and selected "Download..." on the other machine.  No problems, other than mine (laptop) taking over 5 hours to download and finish installing.

You might as well wait until next month when version 1909 comes out.

My 1903 delaying  ordeal is over.

Microsoft installed version 1903 automatically on 29 August.
It took over 4 hours from "Getting things ready" to completion.
Everything works fine with no hiccups as far as I can see so far.

I'm sorry for you Beaker77 haha, I'm still postponing mine as long as possible!  Of course this is not on my main machine.  My main machine I don't trust to Windows 10, it is and will be Windows 7 for as long as possible, and maybe even Windows 8 after that.

If I don't reply right away it's because I'm waiting for Windows 10 to Update.

Good on you. Four hours seems a bit long but as long as there are no problems then everything is good.

You will probably be aware that when a new feature update is installed, all your previous restore points are removed.

Also, some users find that their System Protection Settings have been switched to Off.

To check this, type "create a restore point" in your search box.

If it has been turned Off, click on the Configure button to turn System Protection back to On.

Since all seems to be OK for you, now would be a good time to create a new manual Restore Point.

And, of course, then create a new Full Image Backup (all partitions) of your system.  :thumbup2:

Thank you.- System protection was turned ON - see image and I did create a manual restore Point.
