Windows xp won't update

4 computers built from MSDN ISO x86/x64 XP/2003 Server

 

Updates failed.

 

WORKAROUND

 

1. Download:the relevant:  (outside of computer and copy to target)

i)  SP 2  x86/x64 XP/2003 Server

ii)  IE 8  x86/x64 XP/2003 Server)

 

2. Install SP 2 - restart

3. Install IE 8 - restart

 

4. Launch IE 8

5. IE->Tools->Windows Update

 

Wait 10 minutes for updates to start.

 

This fixed update on the 4 systems.  Adrian
