How do I explain 'gungebucket'
We all know what gunge is. It's that sticky stuff that lives round the back any old cooker, also the sort of goo that you get in the nooks and crannies of any car or bike engine that's more than about four years old. But, in my opinion, it's also the stuff that ends up in the un-defragged parts of your brain or computer. And let's face it, that stuff belongs in a bucket, right?
Now the goo from your old cooker and the muck from your old engine can be thrown out, without polluting the landscape please, but the frags from the mind must stay in the bucket in the corner. You're bound to use some of it someday. Just like I am in this post.
The rhythm of the word 'gungebucket' is nice, I really like the word 'gunge'. Say gunnnnge! It's one of those words that rings in the head. You know, like in the joke, "What's brown and sounds like a bell?"
But my brain conjured up the word from a 1969 music compilation type album called 'Gutbucket' with tracks from the likes of Captain Beefheart, The Groundhogs, Alexis Corner and Canned Heat. ( I just Wikkied it to get the details ;) ) Which in turn took its name from a generic type of home made bass instrument made originally from such components as a bucket a broomstick and a piece of string. ( ok, I got that from Wiki as well. )
Anyone had enough gunge yet?
