What's the best Ipod??

thanks for all the replies, but i finally decided to go with the ipod touch, its 8gb, but i like its apps, and i happen to have an 8gb ipod nano 1st gen that i recieved as well, and im really happy with both of them

8gb? I have an 8 gig nano and let me tell ya I've had it for two and a half years and it's overflowing. I have literally no space left and only about one thousand songs and no games or vids (besides maybe ten music videos). Eight gigabytes is less than it seems, at least for me, but I suppose plenty of my friends get along with their eight gig touches just fine. Glad you're happy at least :D

I personally use a mp3 player by samsung, but I can't remember which. I inherited it from my boyfriend who works as an automechanic once he got a smart phone. That little touch screen mp3 player has been beat to utter bleep since he used it at work daily for several years, and it still works perfectly.

If you are going iPod and your reasons for not getting an iPhone is you don't want the cell phone function, the touch is pretty awesome. Its an iphone with out the cell phone capabilities, and wi-fi is becoming more and more ubiqutious, so you have portable web browsing. They're also tough. My friend lost hers in our driveway mid winter, it was driven over, frozen, thawed, and frozen again before it was found this spring and the damn thing works (even with the cracked screen it had before it was dropped in the snow). You also don't actually need to have iTunes on your PC for its use, you just need access to a computer with iTunes for the inital set up, then you can do all of that with wifi on the device. I am also guilty of putting someone's ipod through the washing machine because they didn't check their pockets before giving me their laundry (but i found it before i put the pants in the drier!)... it worked fine once it dried out.

Downsides of ipods - if you are interested in borrowing ebooks or digital audio books from your library you can only put the DRM free titles on the device, which means only access to about half of the mp3s and none of the wma files (I'd be happier if none of them were wma, but cest la vie).

I wanted to add that for touch screen mp3 players its SO worth it to spend the few extra bucks to get a high quality film to protect the screen. Let that get scratched by your keys instead!

I got an ipod shuffle recently and really like it. It's smaller than I'd like (only 2GB), but I love the size of it. It's so easy to go running with or go workout with. If they could make something with 8GB to 30GB and keep it the same size, that would be my perfect ipod.

Apple iPod nano 16GB Blue MD477HN - is the best ipod.

It’s depending upon how you want to use iPod. If you want to watch movie then go for iPod nano 3rd Generation, if you want handy sets then iPod shuffle will be best, for music surely iPod classic will be good.  Like you want to listen music then I think iPod classic is a good choice. 

i use iPhone to stream music, but it drains the battery.

iPod nano 6th gen. 16gb or 32 if you can find it.

 

I wear it on my wrist. it has many functions including watch faces and touch screen. I don't think Apple makes this model anymore (yay Apple. not). I like it so much that i will probably buy another one elsewhere as a back up. There are many watchbands from casual to 'rawk', fashion to business, fine leather or expensive stainless. Best part is the size. And, I never drop it.
