Microsoft released the October 2019 non-security Microsoft Office updates that fix issues and add improvements to Windows Installer (MSI) editions of Office 2013 2010, Office 2013, and Office 2016.
For instance, after applying this month's update, "Outlook now can block the sending and receiving of Python files (.py, .pyc, .pyo, .pyw, .pyz and .pyzw) as attachments."
The updates can be downloaded from the Download Center or Microsoft's Update service for manual installation. None of the Microsoft Office updates released today apply to the Click-to-Run Office apps, such as Microsoft Office 365 Home.
Depending on the update, users might also need to have updates such as a Service Pack previously installed on their Windows devices, as is the case of some of the Microsoft Office 2013 updates that require the Microsoft Office 2013 Service Pack 1.
Office non-security updates
Several of the Office October non-security updates released today only apply to certain programs like Word, Outlook, or Skype for Business.
Others are designed to improve, enhance the stability, or fix issues affecting the entire suite of Microsoft Office 2010, Microsoft Office 2013, or Microsoft Office 2016 apps.

Some updates may require a computer restart
After installing some of the Microsoft Office non-security updates released today as part of the October 2019 Office Update Release, you may have to also reboot your computer.
You can remove any of the updates following this procedure if your Office installation starts misbehaving:
• In the list of updates, locate and select the offending update, and then select Uninstall.
