Forgot BIOS password

On an old eMachines E527 of mine, I put a Bios password on everything, including boot password and setup password. I guess i was being paranoid, because i put a password different from my normal password. Now i can't remember it, and i can't use a cmos reset disk because the boot needs a password! Is there any way to at least bypass the password?

 Remove the CMOS battery, unplug the computer, press and hold the power button for 60 seconds, then try again.

You can see if there is something like page 47 of the e627 manual.

 I see p142 of that manual has instructions for Steps for Clearing BIOS Password Check.  As the old saying goes, "when all else fails, RTFM".  

Not everyone looks up the service and maintenance manual and usually this information is not found in the standard user's manual.

I already read the service manual but i was not sure the e627 instructions applied to the e527 as well. they put that jumper really deep into the computer, and the cmos battery is soldered in.

is there any way to get to the jumper other that removing the mobo?

 You might try doing Google searches.  I've seen programs you can put on a CD and boot up that will reset the password, but it's been a long time ago and I don't remember the details.  This kind of app is the reason why they've started replacing the BIOS with UEFI and NTFS with GPT file systems in the newest computers, but since you've got an older computer, that shouldn't be a factor for you.

You should only have to momentarilly short the jumper to clear the password.  If you can see it and either get a paper clip or screw driver head to it that should be all you need.

Heck, I can't even find it!

I read the manual and it said the jumper was near the wi-fi module, bui i can't find it. Where is it located?

Does the computer throw a alpha numeric or numeric code when you enter the password wrong three times. Can you post the Code?

no code, just an error message saying password is incorrect, system will halt, or something to that effect.

They used to throw a code but for EFI BIOS it has chnaged. See this. It concerns a emachines E527

yeah is an insyde h20 efi, i've read that before, but i just cant boot in to anything at all! if i just could find that cmos reset dip switch...
