Mcafee Virus Protection And Firewall

I am using Windows 2000 OS and for Virus Protection and Firewall, I am using Mcafee.
For months now, Mcafee will repeatedly become 'disabled', so I have to manually 'enable' the program.
This will occur 5 or 6 times a month. I have contacted Mcafee several times and their solution has been to uninstall the program and reinstall it. I have uninstalled & reinstalled it 5 or 6 times, but this has not corrected the problem.

[b]Can someone recommend another program that will provide both Virus Protection and also be a Firewall? Or tell me how to get Mcafee to function correctly?

Hello, Im new here and dont know much about antivirus stuff. But you asked for another program that has virus protection and also be a firewall. I use Norton Internet Security. But i must say, I have a post that is asking for help to get rid of a worm I found on my computer that Norton still has not recognized. So I dont know how great the program really is. Hope that helps you.
