F-Secure vs. AVG

I've been using AVG Free for some time now and it works pretty good, although it slows down my PC.

I just bought a new PC with 8GB RAM and a friend is suggesting I install Shaw Secure (F-Secure).

Is F-Secure better than AVG or is there another AV software package I should install?
