Today, Microsoft announced a big update for Microsoft Launcher and the build is currently rolling out to beta testers. The updated Microsoft Launcher includes a host of new features, improvements and refinements.

According to the changelog posted on the Google Play Store, the Microsoft Launcher preview update brings support for both Sticky Notes and Microsoft To-Do. The card now shows tasks from apps like Microsoft To Do, Outlook and Skype.


The update also introduces a screen time card/widget which allows you to track your Screen Time, app usage and the phone unlocks. Here's a closer look at the new changes introduced in Microsoft Launcher beta version 5.1:

  • Notes card is now integrated with Sticky Notes. You can pin them to your home screen and view them in your feed.
  • The Tasks card is now integrated with Microsoft To Do and Wunderlist card will be available for Wunderlist customers.
  • Cortana has an updated card with support for commute/traffic and multi-commitments.
  • You can also activate Cortana with the "Hey Cortana" command in the United States with English. Cortana is now available in ES-ES region.
  • The updated Microsoft Launcher comes with Bing mini-answers feature which shows you quick answers for stocks and currency in the Launcher Search bar.
  • There are general fixes and improvements.

The last update added Timeline support to Android devices and the UI was overhauled in Microsoft Launcher 5. Microsoft is not planning to release any other big updates for Launcher this year but bug fixing updates are still on the radar.
