I was going to update and remove some of the "windows features" that are enabled under Vista, but when the display box comes up, it is empty. I have tried to use the Microsoft KB931712 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931712) solution, but it tells me that it cannot delete the registry entry because it does not exist.

Has anyone had any luck with any other solutions to make it work (short of either paying Microsoft or reinstalling the OS)?

If the registry key doesn't exist, try creating it. BUT - there are several sub-keys beneath it, so this may not work for you - I'd suggest backing up your registry before trying this!!!
