What is the best way to transfer programs and files from a PC with ME to one with VISTA? Can I do a direct transfer and if so how? Must I move data to another drive such as an external HD or flash drive then move to the PC with Vista. Help please.

The easiest way would be to follow the Using Windows Easy Transfer Tutorial.
The name says it all -- 59 and holding permanently

Thank you for putting me on to this tutorial. It will be helpful but only if I can transfer data from Windows ME. It is not clear to me in reading through the introduction of the tutorial if I can make the transfer from ME. Any other thoughts on this? It does say that transfers can be made from Windows 2000 however not settings. No mention is made of Windows ME. THanks.

Programs must be reinstalled
Data can be transfered with a jump drive
In the beginning there was the command line.
