(Okay, I know there isn't a simple answer to this question, having bounced it off a few people and received weird looks in response.)

Hello, all.

This isn't exactly a pressing question, but I'd like to know for future reference. I've had a few friends fall victim to hacking attacks lately, and I'd like to know if there's a good way to monitor the network traffic on my computer, particularly incoming traffic that tries to write or execute. (Yes, I know that legitimate internet programs do this all the time.) Is there a system log somewhere I can watch?

Thanks.
