Can someone help.
Ad aware up until now was working fine, but now it says 'error retrieving update SE 1R175' and only gets as far as 5% before this message.

Thanks
Paul

I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago.

Here is the thread:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/97527/ad-aware-se/

If you scroll down to post # 13 you will see tg1911's recommendation.

I used the third link down to solve the problem.

I hope this is of some help to you.

thanks for your quick response.
I have just looked at those links. Did you have to uninstall your version and reinstall the new one? or did you delete a def file in programme files?

thanks
Paul

Yes I had uninstall. I then did a reinstall from that site and then update.

I had to disable my anti-virus to get the job done. (AVG-7.5 Free)

Your welcome. Should you run into any problems I am sure someone here can help you.

I am a computer novice so I am not qualified to offer advice.

Once in a while I will see someone post about a problem that I had, and I offer a link to how it was solved for me by the good folks here at Bleeping Computer.
