Today I started getting false windows security alerts, accompanied by a red triangle with a yellow exclamation point in the lower right corner of my screen (next to the time)and a warning from Avira about a virus called VBS/ClickA. Then a window will pop up saying a threat has been detected and prompts me to download some virus scanning software. I ran two scans with my Avira anti virus and my Ad Aware programs. Avira alerted me to several viruses. Even though I removed them in Avira, they were still there. I have no idea what this is or how to get rid of it. Help??

Instructions for removing Ultimate Defender

Follow up with the program below.
Install Super Antispyware. Run it in safe mode. Allow it to quarantine whatever it finds.

Post a Hijack This log in the Hijack This Forum by following the directions in the link below if the programs above have not removed ALL malware. DO NOT post the log in this forum.

I've just finished all of the above steps and I have submitted a Hijackthis log to the proper forum (because there seems to be some lingering issues). However, the Ultimate Cleaner seems to be totally gone. No more annoying pop-ups.

Again, THANKS!
