Hi, my sister just got a new MacBook, and she was playing around with it, and somehow the speech came on where it recites everything that's on the screen. We have tried to fix it by going to speech, but all the boxes are unchecked, sombody please help, she just got it last week, so we are both not experienced with Mac's whatsoever.

Press these keys fn+⌘+f5 at the same time.
She must've turned on VoiceOver in System Preferences > Universal Access > Seeing

If your MacBook is new you can also call Apple for assistance. When I got a new Mac I called Apple pretty often and thought the service was pretty good.

If you have AppleCare you get the free help even longer!
