Well I accidentally downloaded a trojan and now I'm stumped. Pop-ups from internet explorer keep coming up with something called bestmanage or something. I use mozilla and I never use internet explorer.

Somehow, I think the malware disabled my keyboard (I'm doing this from my other computer). Whenever I go into setup (the F8 thing), the keyboard works but whenever I get to the logon screen (I use Windows XP) the keyboard doesn't work (even in safe mode) . My main account has a password and i cant logon but my other account works (it has no password). The keyboard didn't work after i patched up the AVG Anti-Spyware thing. I used tons of different spyware removers that you guys listed. Like ad aware, spybot s&d, avg and cleancutter (wtv its called) but none of them work. I can't get my hijack this log because the keyboard doesnt work (my hijackthis log is on the main user that has a password) I have no clue what to do, please help!!!

EDIT

okay guys i somehow got the hijack this log using my mouse and copy pasting letters with my mouse envetually leading to signing on my msn and installing hijack this.

Here's my log

Another edit, I just plugged a second keyboard onto my computer and now it works (the first one still doesnt work). so now i can do stuff normally instead of copy pasting letters with the mouse to get what i need. I also now have access to my main account (where I first discovered the virus so if you need me to give you the hijack log for that, please ask at any time.

Hello wako944,

Before we start, you need to realize that you are missing one important program on that computer: An antivirus. That is why you got very badly infected.

This is somewhat suicidal in today's digital world.

You need to install an antivirus program as soon as you can and run a complete scan of the computer.

I recommend you download the free

Avast or
AntiVir or
AVG antivirus

Products from all three vendors received the Virus Bulletin's VB100% award and certification for virus detection from ICSA Labs.

Never install more than one antivirus scanner or firewall on your system! Several together can give you problems and decrease the reliability of it seriously!

After you run a complete scan with one of the antiviruses above, then post a fresh Hijackthis log.

Hi, SifuMike. As you said I installed Avast and ZoneAlarm firewall. I ran the scan but it didn't work, it asked me to do a system scan (like before windows starts in a blue screen). I was going to do that but I'm going to Germany very soon and will be back September so the next time I reply will be in September. Expect a HijackLog September!

Hi wako944,

NOTE: If you have downloaded SmitfraudFix previously please delete that version and download it again!

Please download SmitfraudFix

Double-click SmitfraudFix.exe
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of the SmitfraudFix report into your next reply.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Here is my SmitFraud report. About the Process.exe though, since it's not running on my Task Manager, should I just leave it be until the next reboot or find a way to re-run it (Like using File -> New Task -> and typing in Process.exe)?

Hi wako944,

About the Process.exe though, since it's not running on my Task Manager, should I just leave it be until the next reboot or find a way to re-run it (Like using File -> New Task -> and typing in Process.exe)?

No.

You should print out these instructions, or copy them to a Notepad file for reading while in Safe Mode, because you will not be able to connect to the Internet to read from this site.

Please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".
  • Choose your usual account.
Once in Safe Mode, double-click SmitfraudFix.exe
Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press "Enter" to delete infected files.

You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?"; answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter" in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.

The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found); answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter".

The tool may need to restart your computer to finish the cleaning process; if it doesn't, please restart anyway into normal Windows. A text file will appear onscreen, with results from the cleaning process; please copy/paste the content of the SmitfraudFix report into your next reply along with a new HijackThis log.
The report can also be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt

Warning : running option #2 on a non infected computer will remove your Desktop background.

Hey, sorry for the extremely slow response. I had a 3 day field trip for school (meeting new people and introducing the school year) so I didn't have time to respond. As you said, I followed all of your instructions. I did not have my wininet.dll infected since it didn't ask me to replace it. Also, my computer must not be infected since my desktop background is gone (no biggie), but still I get the frequent pop up from IE or Mozilla.

Hi wako944,

Also, my computer must not be infected since my desktop background is gone (no biggie), but still I get the frequent pop up from IE or Mozilla.

No, you had several files from Smitfraud, as the first scan found them, and the second scan deleted them.

But you still have another infection going on, so we will use ComboFix.

NOTE: If you have downloaded ComboFix previously please delete that version and download it again!

1. Download this file - combofix.exe to your Desktop.
Note:
It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop

2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it shall produce a log for you, C:\ComboFix.txt. Post the ComboFix  log and a fresh Hijackthis log in your next reply.
Do NOT post the ComboFix-quarantined-files.txt - unless I ask you to.

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall

Hi wako944,

That removed quite a few malware files, but you still have some suspicious files we need to check. You have great collection of malware on this computer.

Go to My Computer and double-click C.
Go to the Tools menu and select 'Folder Options'.
On the 'View' tab select 'show hidden files and folders',
deselect (uncheck) 'hide protected operating system files (recommended)', and
deselect (uncheck) "Hide extensions for known file types.'

Go to next site: http://www.virustotal.com/en/indexf.html
On top you'll find 'Browse'
Click the browse button and browse to next file:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\clxfsqcy.dll

Click open.
Then click the 'Send' button next to it.
This will scan the file. Please be patient.
Save the results in notepad.

Perform the same for next files:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\clwmokju.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\kxyibagm.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drvbejr.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\iieldknh

Once scanned, copy and paste the results also in your next reply.

NOTE: I usually enter my email address at virus total so they can send me the scan results. They usually only take a couple minutes to reply.
You can copy/paste the results of scan results here.
