I'm am having a problem with my computer. Almost every time I try to run certain .exe files or .reg files I get an error saying that whatever I am trying to run is not a valid Win32 App. For example it would be like this.

"Path of file" is not a valid Win32 application.

I noticed this happening first when I tried to run a registry file and then I noticed it again when I tried installing Media player 11.

Any comments or ways to fix this?

Hi Draclan and welcome to BC!

It seem like either the .exe file you have or had downloaded is corrupted. You may want to try to download again and see how it goes. Otherwise, it looks like you are downloading a 64-bit application on your 32-bit system. You can always get the 32-bit version.

There is also a website that I found with some information that might of help you to - Click Here

As for the .reg files, what are the files trying to do? Messing around with registry files is not advisable as it may cause your system to be unstable.

The .exe file is not corrupted or the wrong type like 64bit or a 32bit, I have 32bit windows as far as I know. I also tried that link before. I doubt it has a virus infected in it because I downloaded it straight from Microsoft. I also tried installing this other program and I got the same error.

The reason I was running a .reg file was because I was trying to fix it. I was trying to use a .exe fix. That's when I saw that error again.

Any hints as to what .exe file you're talking about?

Were these .reg files attempts to fix the operating system? If so, you may have unknowingly damaged the OS - try a system restore to a point before you noticed these errors.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
