Hi Guys

I have two problems

1) As of a couple of days ago the clickpad on my notebook ( an Acer Travelmate) double clicks when I use it. I would click on something, and nothing would happen, then obviously I would swear at it  , and click again...only then would it react. Its almost as if the click action is delayed. This is especially bad in Outlook Express when manageing e-mails. I did check all the settings on my pointing device, and all semme normal. I think I have 4 months of warrenty left.

2) XP has also suddenly become very slow at times. It is as if there are to many programs running in the background. I use AVG Free AntiVirus( with e-mail scanning disabled because i trust my ISP), I also run SpyBot and Ad-Awsare SE personal and most recently I also added a- squared free. I also use CCleaner to clean cookies and cache on a daily basis. I used to use Kaspersky 5 for Windows workstations but uninstalled it when the slow and erattic problem started.

I also defrag and "diskcleanup" my HD on a regular basis. I took screencaps op my startup menu in ms config, but have absolutely NO idea which applications are unnecessary and which must run with start. I wanted to attach it here but dont know how.. If anybody could have a look at it and give me some idea I'd really be a happy camper.

MOD EDIT: Merged 2 posts and relocated to more appropriate forum ~ stevealmighty

Hi ICK, :flowers:

If you still need help please post a fresh HijackThis log and I'll be happy to look at it for you. Thanks for your patience!

A new version of HijackThis has now been released, so before you repost your log please download and install the new version by following the instructions in Step 9 of the Preparation Guide For Use Before Posting A Hijackthis Log. Note that it is unnecessary to uninstall the old version because the new one will be copied to a different folder.
