Thank you for reading this. I hope I can explain what's happening here. My computer definately has something wrong with it starting last night.
Last night before going to bed I looked at my pc screen and it had a blue screen with white writing that said something about "memory dump" "Fatal...something"
I couldn't do anything other than to hold down the button on the pc case and turn it off that way. When I turned it back on and rebooted is when the problems started. PLease excuse me if This kinda rambles, but I've tried a lot of things. When I rebooted my computer..the following happened:
1. Windows xp hung on the blue screen that says "Windows is Starting" for at least 2 minutes
2. my desktop background came up with no icons for about 2 minutes, then the icons appeared.
3. 2 windows popped out saying "Can't enumerate devices"
4. When I opened up a window of internet explorer, it wouldn't connect to the internet and also...the address bar was at the bottom
5. I tried to do a "System Restore" but it said that System Restore was off
6. I went to "Add and Remove programs" and saw a program called "Outerinfo". I tried to remove it but it said I had to download an uninstaller to do that. So I downloaded it with another computer and burned it on a disk, copied it to the infected computer and managed to uninstall it.
7. I ran adaware, and no-adaware and removed everything they said could be bad.
8. I ran smitfraudfix in safe mode and still the problems persist.
9. I imagine that a hijackthis log is needed, but once I run it on the infected pc how will I post it here if I can't access the internet and I can't burn it with the infected computer?
10. everytime I try to open most programs..the pc just freezes.

I know this is vague, but if anyone can help me at all that would be awesome. I do have this laptop that is able to connect to the net.

I'm running windows xp home.

THanks

PS. I was able to burn the HJT log in safe mode. Here it is:

My computer is really messed up. I had a blue screen of death and since I rebooted I'm had tons of problems. My network connections are gone...everything freezes, and IE looks strange (address bar on bottom). I can't figure it out. I had to run this in safe mode because it's the only way it would work.
