Under a year old HP laptop won't turn on. Tried another power source, no luck. Unplugged and plugged back in. Nothing. Any advice?

remove the battery, gently push the power switch to feel the click, hold it down for 3 minutes, place the battery back in, plug in the power adapter back into the laptop and wall outlet, try to turn on again.
The name says it all -- 59 and holding permanently
