I turn on my laptop. I enter my name & password...and then i get programs that start to open...but then they stop opening and ask for me to insert a disc.
The programs are:
JASC paint shop photo album 5
Windows Installer

I hit control/alt/delete and go to the task manager and cancel...but this happens everytime.
Does anyone know how to stop this problem?

I would go to the start menu and hit run. Type "msconfig" (leave out the friggin quotes!!) and press enter. Click on the "startup" tab and scroll through the list, see if any of those match up. If not check the "services" tab (next to where you found the "startup tab" and check for your issues there.

JASC is now Corel. Did you install this software? Did you want this software? To make permanent changes to msconfig try using codestuff starter

Besides the "msconfig attempt", go into the individual programs.....if it allows you to...and go to its "preferences" or "tools" drop-down, and see if there is an option to load at start-up or something of that nature. This can also sometimes be accomplished by right clicking the icon in the "tray" (lower right corner of the desktop) and see if it gives you the "preferences of tools" options there.

You can also go to Control Panel and then to "Add/Remove Programs" and get rid of them there. If you really want them, try re-installing them then. NOT too sue about removing anything about "Windows Installer" though. Sounds perhaps too critical!!!
