Trojan Privacy Danger acted like helpful virus software. Two different popup, kept telling us to click on the message to download Virus software, because our computer was infected with a virus. Then an Internet explorer page would pop up with a specific website. The websites changed, some of the website addresses were: www.onlinestability.com, http://aboutyourprivacy.com/phander.php. One message had "Malware Alert" in the blue title bar and the message said "Trojan Adware.W32.ExpDwnldr. Virus rating 4, download software to protect your system." When this message came up a little red flashing triangle with an ! came up in the bottom program toolbar. The other message I don't remember exactly what it said, but it always wanted you to download some software to keep your system safe. It took control of our Internet Home page (Yahoo) and kept sending us to these websites. We couldn't change the home address back to Yahoo, in internet options. The address in the internet options was http://gomyron.com/Nju2NA. It also took control of our desktop, and changed it to this red biohazard symbol with the message "Your computer is in Danger Download Privacy Danger" It also downloaded 3 icons on our desktop and they were the following: Error Clearner, Privacy Protector, Spyware & Malware Protection. These icons were listed in the properties as internet links. If we would be online, we couldn't do anything; there was so many popups, and redirecting you to different websites. The websites could be about anything including some porn websites. We ran our Symantec Norton Virus Software. It found a couple of files, but it didn't take care of the problem. So we ran it again and it didn't find anything further. We were able to stop the popups by downloading SDFix (advice from the person who was helping get rid of the virus and directed us to your forum). Then we did all the steps you requested and will be posting our Hijackthis file. Now we don't know if we fixed all the problems or not, so we don't know what the next step should be. Help!!

Hello,

Please do not attach your log, but copy and paste them in the thread instead..

* Download Combofix to your desktop.
Doubleclick combofix.exe
Follow the prompts.
Don't click on the window while the fix is running, because that will cause your system to hang.

When finished and after reboot (in case it asks to reboot), combofix will open again to gather the necessary information for the log. This may take a bit. When done, Combofix will close and a log should open, combofix.txt.
Post the contents of this log in your next reply together with a new hijackthislog.
Do NOT post the ComboFix-quarantined-files.txt - unless I ask you to.
