Help! I just transferred pictures from my camera's SD memory card to my computer, using the Windows easy transfer or whatever it's called. I had it delete the pictures from my memory card in the process because it's efficient and has always worked in the past. Then it took me to Windows photo gallery, where I saw all my thumbnails. I double-clicked one to look at it closer but it told me the file wasn't found. Back in the photo gallery, it showed the folder as empty. If I try accessing this folder in any way, I get a message saying it's "not accessible" because "The file or folder is corrupted and unreadable. Stupid bastard Windows has just CORRUPTED the precious pictures I JUST UPLOADED!

This has never happened to me before. I want my damn pictures back! Does anyone know how to 'un-corrupt' a folder? Wah!!!

Try running chkdsk c: /f /r in the start box. Change c: to whatever drive your corrupt folder is on.

Copy the entire directory to removable media to prevent any further accidents. Then you can try different freeware file recovery programs to recover the data (pictures). Here's a link to the freeware apps page: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic3616.html (make sure to check for Vista compatibility with the one's that you choose).
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
