Hi all,

I am a first time user of this forum and have a couple of issues which I will elaborate on elsewhere. I use an Acer Extensa 2303LC laptop, Celeron M 340 processor, 40GB HDD, 256MB DDR up graded to 512MB. The OS is XP home and I use IE7 with a wireless broadband connection. I also have an 80GB mobile hard drive always conneced by usb. It is not too bad a setup for most, but I get frustrated by the slowness and memory capacity. Altough I don't use it for serious gaming or music, I do have both and would like to be able to have more.

I may sometimes sound reasonably knowledgable about computers, I am not. In fact if I don't hear or read something in very basic and thoroughly explained step-by-step babytalk, you are wasting your time telling me. Don't get me wrong, I am not stupid, I just have an illness that affects my comprehension and memory and can be a real time-consuming hassle sometimes.

One of my goals is to build my own desktop computer, something that is faster and more capable than the laptop and be connected via wireless networking to the laptop. If I can get that right, it mightl help me to understand the damn thing from the start, lol.

Well, that's me. Have a good day,

Tizzanne

Welcome to BleepingComputer Tizzanne!

You may want to read up on some of the hardware threads. We have members looking into building new pcs and asking for suggestions for parts - brands - etc. I hope you enjoy the forums.

Thanks everyone for the welcome. It is good to know there are people around when one needs them. I have not found a forum till this one where the responses to questions are posted so quickly. It is fabulous.

Regards
