Gooday all,

Does anybody know if an applicaton exists that enables one to monitor a dial-up line (in terms of "line quality") at the dial-up end? :flowers:

I had it in mind to have an oscilloscope across the line, but tests proved that the loading of the line (using a 100k-ohm probe) caused dial-up problems (slowed the connection to about 28,8 kb, when I was able to connect at 37 Kb).

Any comments? :trumpet:

Thanks,

Kev'

There is no program other than ones that are included with diagnostic hardware (like tbirds etc) that would be able to monitor line qualituyg

Thanks Lawrence,

Looks like I'll have to rely on my line provider to be honest then. Not a happy prospect, but there it is.

If such an application exists, and I don't doubt that one does, these would be the first people to contact:

http://www.equinox.com

If you were not considering that scale then google up the forums for USRobotics, the noisy line solutions people.
