viewing secure web sites

i have tried to view secure websites and i am not able to, i have tried a number of different options i think it might have something to do w/ xp sp2, anyone know how to fix it

Do you have any Norton products installed?

Open IE, go to TOOLS > Internet Options > Advanced and scroll to bottom of list. Options there are for SSL, TLS, etc. Make sure they are all on.

SSL and TLS are encryption algorithms that make sure your communication with the other computer is secured.
