The Screen on my Monitor just goes blank, as if it is switched off. The power light is still on, but there is no luminance at all on the screen. It is usually preceded by a slight flicker, and the picture loses some of its brightness

If I turn the monitor off and on, the picture comes back for about a minuite, and then we start over again. This goes on until I get fed up and switch off completely. There is no loss of position where I am on the Computer.

I have had trouble with it for about an hour this evening, but now it seems ok

Any ideas

Is this a CRT or an LCD monitor? Sounds like it's getting ready to crap out

You are probably right. I have exhausted all other avenues. It is not LCD.

I am going away for a few days, then I will borrow a Monitor to prove one way or another. I have only had this one for approx 3 years !!

Thanks for your interest.

Just out of curiosity, what brand is it?

How old is it? Can you possibly try another monitor?
