Hello - I have two firewire ports on my system which is less than a month old. Before setting up my system in it's permanent location I tested all the ports and hookups and everything worked fine except for one USB port in the front (and a headphone/audio jack in the front which apparently was never going to work - but that's another story).

Anyway - I took the PC in to have the USB port fixed (at PC Club) and the gentleman at the store opened it up and hooked it up (I guess it was unplugged?) but now the firewire jack in the back doesn't detect anything.

Could he have possibly swapped one for the other without informing me? Or could one just have knocked the other one out of use? I've taken a flashlight and looked at the wires and I don't see anything dangling.

Can anyone offer a mode of troubleshooting (that won't have me unplugging the whole system and lugging it back into the store)?

Thanks in advance.

Do both firewire ports not work, or just one?

I'd take it back and ask the guy if this could have caused the problem. If it did, then he should be able to explain to you what he did.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

- John  (my website: http://www.carrona.org/ )**If you need a more detailed explanation, please ask for it. I have the Knack. **  If I haven't replied in 48 hours, please send me a message. My eye problems have recently increased and I'm having difficult reading posts. (23 Nov 2017)FYI - I am completely blind in the right eye and ~30% blind in the left eye.<p>If the eye problems get worse suddenly, I may not be able to respond. If that's the case and help is needed, please PM a staff member for assistance.

The one on the front of the tower works. The one on the back card does not.
