Hi all!

First time user here and I signed up hoping the experts here can help. I need help on removing the following problems.

Trojan Adware.W32.ExpDwnldr
This problem causes fake pop ups (malware i think) every few minutes and also a red shield on the task bar (bottom right) flashes.

Privacy_Danger
This problem changed my desktop background and keeps reloading itself even if I delete the source file in windows.

Your expertise is greatly appreciated.

Download Avenger from the link below:
http://swandog46.geekstogo.com/avenger.zip
Unzip/extract it to your desktop.

Start up Avenger.
Check the 'Input script manually' option.
Click the Magnifying Glass icon.
In the box that opens,copy and paste ALL the following bold blue text in the Quote box below:

Files to delete:
C:\WINDOWS\vxddsk.exe
C:\WINDOWS\mkloc.exe
c:\windows\system32\vtsqpmm.dll

Folders to delete:
C:\WINDOWS\privacy_danger

Then click on 'Done'.
Click the Traffic Light icon to start the program.
Then press OK at the prompts to reboot your PC.

Post the Avenger output.txt, which you can find at C:\Avenger\.txt into your next reply.

********************************

Download SDFix.exe and save it to your desktop:
http://downloads.andymanchesta.com/RemovalTools/SDFix.exe

* Double click on SDFix on your desktop,and install the fix to C:\

Please then reboot your computer into Safe Mode by doing the following:

* Restart your computer
* After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
* Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
* Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".
* Choose your usual account.

* In Safe Mode,go to and open the C:\SDFix folder,then double click on RunThis.bat to start the script.
* Type Y to begin the script.
* It will remove the Trojan Services then make some repairs to the registry and prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
* Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
* Your system will take longer that normal to restart as the fixtool will be running and removing files.
* When the desktop loads the Fixtool will complete the removal and display Finished, then press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
* Finally open the SDFix folder on your desktop and copy and paste the contents of the results file Report.txt into your next reply.
* Also post a new Hijackthis log please.

Hi Richie,

I performed the avenger sequence you mentioned. However after reboot the .txt file was blank.

I'm glad to say that after the reboot it fixed the problem I was experiencing with my internet explorer defaulting to http://gomyron.com/NjU2NA==/2/3560/homepage/ and other similar malware pages. Now my internet explorer is defaulting to my original homepage. Your are awesome!

Do I need to proceed with the next steps with SDFix.exe?

I can't log into safe mode. I tried logging in with my usual account and as the administrator but do not know the password either. Is there anyway around this? Anyways here is my latest Hijackthis log if it helps. Thanks again!

My computer is running fine now. No more pop ups, malware, fake trojan warnings and my desktop background is the way I want it. Is it necessary to keep all the programs that were downloaded to resolve the issues? Or can I delete some if not all of them?

Hey Richie,

One last thing. I have AVG 7.5, Spybot Search & Destroy, Windows Defender, Super Antispyware free edition, Ad-Watch 2007, Ad-Aware 2007 all of which are installed on my computer at the moment. Should I unistall or delete any of these?

I MUST SAY ONE LAST TIME THAT YOU ROCK! YOU ARE A COMPUTER GENIUS!!!

Uninstall SuperAntiSpyware if you like,but if system performance is not being affected at all there's no reason why you should'nt keep all of them.
