This is a repost of a 6/15 post deleted without a response. Problem dates from the May Microsoft security update. The computer was unusable until I disabled Defender, which ran at 100% cpu. I use Firefox and Eudora. Firefox often takes 2 minutes to launch and navigates slowly. WMP and Flash use 100% cpu and won't display video. IE does not display most graphics, just frame with X box inside. IE links don't work ("page cannot be displayed" message)

Ran cleanmgr, scanned with AdAware SE and Spybot (very slow). I was unable to use Panda Anti Virus or Bit defender because IE links are blocked (Page cannot be displayed). Unable to use Housecall on Firefox because Housecall cannot locate Java. Eset NOD32 is installed and updates daily, scans all files daily using 100% cpu during scan. Ran McAfee Stinger. MS firewall is disabled. I'm using the hardware firewall in my 2-wire router. Ran Autoruns; the log is attached. Ran Hijack This. Here's the log:
