Amd Athlon 64 X2 5200

hey all, upgraded my rig:
amd athlon 64 x2 5200
msi k9n4 ultra motherboard
nvidia 8500gt 512mb pci-e
1gb ddr2 800 ram
on 500w power supply

but when i press the on switch, it seems all components and fans power on except for the cpu (fan remains still), what could the problem be? i have no idea

Did you connect the square four pin CPU connector from the PSU?
