I am not interested in it whatsoever.I'm with you 'Boopme'I only want Phone to ring from A to B and Text. The Phone I have now has an 80 page Instruction Book, and that's a headache to navigate.I like things simple to operate.Read an article just now in the NZ Herald which says it could cost up to 3000 NZ Dollars inclusive with a 2 yr contract.Thats close to the cost in Aus currency. No Thankyou.

Late EDIT. You rush in and sign yourself up to one of these long term contracts, and another Company brings out a better, more robust and user friendly IPhone? Your stuck with this contract. If I did indeed have use for one of these, which I dont,I would wait a little while till they are rigorously tested in the field.

Actually, several of the Why Not's apply to me:
Too Much Technology
Too Much Money
Don't Need It

Also, one of my own:
I've got better things, to spend that kind of money, on

I voted, Don't Need It.

Oh well... I might as well say yes.

The cost of the phone will be lower than the $500 price they originally projected. I live on a cell phone - use it for work and my volunteer stuff. I have put 1400 minutes on my phone in one month. Saying that, I want a phone that will give me a lot of functionality in one device. I do like the "gadget" part of it... but I really need a good phone that lets me keep track of things too.

The #1 thing it will have to do is stay together in a thunderstorm at a wreck scene - and have a good chance for a signal. My Motorolas have stood that test well.

I am such a gadget guy. Love gadgets.

Do not love the i-phone or at least what I read about the virtual keyboard.

Myself I also dont want to spend 500 bucks on a phone. I dont think they hope to take down the treo with this because I doubt very much it has a chance.

Big screen is nice but then its huge in your pocket or on your side. Easy to scratch or break? Maybe....

I personally want a treo but without a plan they are like 500-600 or more retail.

I plan to get a used treo 650. Ad a wifi sd card and I have all I need and more and its not to big. Just a little thick at 0.92 inches.

Cant wait to see one though and read the reviews.

I second that every motrola i have had has been a great phone from the lowly C33XX series the the Nextel iXXX series (I had a couple of Nextels including all the heavy duty ones and broke most of them, all my fault). The iPhone looks too sleek and easy to mess up

Find that I only use my cel phone about 200 minutes per month.
Have it more for convenience and emergency.

Am with DSTM, don't want to need a manual just to operate a darn phone!

Don't Need It (Sounds neat tho...)

The Iphone is one slick device, but I'm less enthusiastic about what it represents for the future of packaged contracts. The fact that this deal is a package from Apple and AT&T exclusively should give you an idea of where the industry is trying to go.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

My best friends answer is same as yours Koan. He and I being on opposite ends brought the poll idea to mind.

For a two-year service with a pwning phone, you could get a 5-year service of #$$-kicking computer or a car... don't buy it. WAY TOO MUCH MONEY. If Bill Gates wasn't Microsoft, he still wouldn't waste his money on this.

I want my phone to send and recieve calls, and maybe text-message every once in a while. I have my (much cheaper) Playstation Portable for movies, music, and web-browsing. I want my phone to act like a phone, not be afflicted with technological bi-polar disorder and try to do everything short of making me breakfast (I expect that to come along very soon! ).

I also don't want to spend $500 for technology I already have. I can't afford it.

PS - I agree with you guys on the manual...I don't have the time or the patience to wade through 800 pages! :flowers:
