Hi,
After just cleaning out my computer from a virus and spyware etc....I was sent here from the Hijackthis forum. I have been told to say that there is no infection on the computer now, also to give this link to that thread.

The stop error messages are for system, Firefox and graphics card or video card. There are NO error message numbers or codes to report. I send the error messages to Microsoft but they just say that at the moment they don't have a solution for my problem at the moment, apart from the Graphics card which tells me to
Move the Hardware Acceleration slider to None, and then click to clear the Enable Write Combining check box.

This I have done.....so far no problems (touch wood). However, the person in the Hijackthis forum said It sounds like you have a damages system file(s).

Let's run Microsoft's System File Checker program.

However, when I tried it wouldn't run:
The Windows Installer CD can't be read, I've tried it in my brother-in-laws computer and the same things happens....When I scanned it with Nero. I got the result that some areas of the disk are damaged.....

Now my brother-in-law has a windows Xp pro disc....
Is it possible to repair my Windows from his disc or might it block my computer because of the different codes?

I thank you for any help you can give.

A STOP error is an error that's generated when Windows has to STOP the system in order to prevent damage to the hardware. This can be a hardware problem, and operating system problem, a driver problem (most common), a virus, and many, many other things. The information from the STOP message is essential to help diagnose the problem.

I'd suggest that you read these 2 links in order to try and locate the STOP error message information (also known as a BSOD).
