Hello,

I notice that you do not seem to be running Antivirus software. This is somewhat suicidal in today's digital world.
That's why I want you to install it first!!

Avira, AVG OR Active Virus Shield (uncheck the Security Toolbar during install)

Reboot your computer afterwards.
After reboot, perform a full scan with your Antivirus and let it remove anything it is finding. Then reboot once again in order to delete files that were in use previously.

Post a new HijackThislog in your next reply - then we'll start from there, because it really makes no sense otherwise that we clean this up manually if an Antivirusscan is not present which should be able to deal with most and prevent further reinfection.

Also, please uninstall Ewido, because this version is outdated.

Hello,

* Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)

* Reboot into Safe Mode`: ( without networking support !)
°To get into the Safe mode as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key". Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.

* Doubleclick SmitFraudFix to start the tool.
Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press "Enter" to delete infected files.

(Warning : running option #2 will set your desktop background blank again. But you can reapply your desktop background again afterwards

You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?"; answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter" in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.

The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found); answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter".

The tool may need to restart your computer to finish the cleaning process; if it doesn't, please restart it into Normal Windows.
A text file will appear onscreen, with results from the cleaning process.

Post the log from smitfraudfix in your next reply together with a new hijackthislog.
The report can also be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt

Hi,

That infection is gone, however, I do see another infection present along the lines. May be just leftovers though..

Do next please:

* Doubleclick SmitFraudFix to start the tool.
Select option #5 - "Search and Clean DNS Hijack" by typing 2 and press "Enter".

It will scan and a logfile will open afterwards. Copy and paste the results of that logfile in your next reply.

Hi,

Do next please..

Go to Start -> Control Panel, and choose Network Connections.
Right click on your default connection, usually Local Area Connection or Dial-up Connection if you are using Dial-up, and left click on properties.
Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item and select the radio button that says Obtain DNS servers automatically.
Click OK twice, and restart your computer.

Good to hear everything is running properly again.

Glad I could help.

Please read my Prevention page with lots of info and tips how to prevent this in the future.
And if you want to improve speed/system performance after malware removal, take a look here.
