ok im currently using Mobile Intel® 945GM Express Chipset Family on a presario compaq laptop and i just tried to play a game and it said: This computer doesnt support pixel shaders 1.1 the game will now close. i decided to research this and on this site http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/cs-014257.htm it says it does support it. anything that hasnt been done that makes it not support it?
thanks in advance

hmm, maybe you only have 1.0? The list does say 1.0-2.0, so wouldn't that mean that it could be anyone in between there? Maybe not, I might just be reading that chart wrong. Why don't they just give the exact number  .

Also, try updating directx.

No. While they do the same thing basicly some programs use OpenGL (which is open source) and some use Direct3D, which is the graphics handling part of DirectX (propritary).

What Game are you trying to play and on what Make and model of PC? (probably should have asked earlier)
