I have a laptop running windows XP Home. I have ad-aware and sophos antivirus. When I run a virus scan, sophos detects the virus

aries.sys

in the location

C:\Windws\system32\$sys$filesystem

with virus name

Troj/RK Proc-Fam

It doesn't seem to be affecting the operation of the computer too much, other than that occasionally it will freeze with only the desktop background visible on startup, and then need to be restarted.

any help would be appreciated.
