Welcome to the BleepingComputer HijackThis Logs and Analysis forum Deek

Please move HijackThis.exe to a permanent folder on the hard drive such as C:\HJT
Create a new folder and place your HijackThis.exe inside that folder so that the backups of log changes it creates are saved in the same folder and can be used to reverse the line entry deletion if found to be necessary.
If HijackThis is used from a temp folder it is in danger of being accidentally deleted by Disk Cleanup or similar tools.

How to create a new folder named HJT
1. Click Start/My Computer,in the 'My Computer' window, open the window in which you want to create the new folder, click on Local Disk C:
2. From the 'File' menu choose 'New'.
3. From the 'New' menu choose 'Folder'.
4. Type the folder name: HJT
5. Then press Enter.

*****************************

Youíve got Symantec/Norton AntiVirus and AVG7 Free installed.
Not a good idea to have more than one antivirus program installed on your computer.
Each program may interpret the actions of the other as viral, therefore giving you false virus warnings about virus-related activities.
It could also lead to system slowdowns and other problems within the operating system, due to the two conflicting with each other.
You should uninstall one or the other as soon as possible, then restart your pc.

If you decide to uninstall Norton,if thereís no uninstaller available in Add\Remove Programs then youííll need to download and run the Norton Removal Tool:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgen...005033108162039

*Please Note:*
The Norton Removal Tool will remove all Norton/Symantec products from your pc.

*****************************

Viewpoint Manager is considered as foistware instead of malware since it is installed without users approval but doesn't spy or do anything "bad".
This will change from what we know in 2006 read this article:
http://www.clickz.com/news/article.php/3561546

You are well advised to remove the program now.
Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following programs if present:

Viewpoint
Viewpoint Manager
Viewpoint Media Player

Then restart your pc.

*****************************

Please download Combofix and save to your desktop:
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/Beta/ComboFix.exe
Note:
It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop

Close any open browsers.
Double click on combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When it's finished it will produce a log.
Post the entire contents of C:\ComboFix.txt into your next reply.
Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running.
That may cause the program to freeze/hang.

Also post a new Hijackthis log please.

Please download DrWeb-CureIt & save it to your desktop. DO NOT perform a scan yet.

You should copy/print the following because you need to be in Safe Mode from here on.

Reboot your computer into SAFE MODE" using the F8 method.
To do this, restart your computer and after hearing your computer beep once during startup (but before the Windows icon appears) press the F8 key repeatedly.
A menu will appear with several options.
Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate and select the option to run Windows in "Safe Mode".

Have Hijack This fix the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and selecting 'Fix checked'.
Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing:
O2 - BHO: HTML Exploits Prevent - {245463AB-6F21-456A-9EB4-FAB802DB8062} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\nsf64.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {74472D18-491E-4C0A-9022-C02E667D859E} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddaya.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {C20A4F15-A68A-DE25-880B-8BADD29575CA} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\pnf.dll (file missing)
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {0BF43445-2F28-4351-9252-17FE6E806AA0} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Alcmtr] ALCMTR.EXE
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ctqbgngx.exe] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ctqbgngx.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [HardTruckTycoonSetup.exe] C:\DOCUME~1\OWNER~1.AND\Desktop\HARDTR~1.EXE /r
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Power2GoExpress] NA
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Ealb] "C:\WINDOWS\RACLE~1\dexplore.exe" -vt ndrv
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Kyhmxjl] "C:\Program Files\F?nts\l?gonui.exe"
O20 - Winlogon Notify: hgghebb - hgghebb.dll (file missing)
O20 - Winlogon Notify: winrzf32 - winrzf32.dll (file missing)

Exit Hijackthis.

Scan with DrWeb-CureIt as follows:
* Double-click on drweb-cureit.exe to start the program. An "Express Scan of your PC" notice will appear.
* Under "Start the Express Scan Now", Click "OK" to start. This is a short scan that will scan the files currently running in memory and when something is found, click the Yes button when it asks you if you want to cure it.
* Once the short scan has finished, Click Options > Change settings
* Choose the "Scan tab" and UNcheck "Heuristic analysis"
* Back at the main window, click "Select drives" (a red dot will show which drives have been chosen)
* Then click the "Start/Stop Scanning" button (green arrow on the right) and the scan will start.
* When done, a message will be displayed at the bottom advising if any viruses were found.
* Click "Yes to all" if it asks if you want to cure/move the file.
* When the scan has finished, look if you can see the icon next to the files found. If so, click it, then click the next icon right below and select "Move incurable".
(This will move it to the C:\Documents and Settings\userprofile\DoctorWeb\Quarantine folder if it can't be cured)
* Next, in the Dr.Web CureIt menu on top, click file and choose save report list.
* Save the DrWeb.csv report to your desktop.
* Exit Dr.Web Cureit when done.
* Important! Reboot your computer because it could be possible that files in use will be moved/deleted during reboot.
* After reboot, post the contents of the log from Dr.Web in your next reply. (You can use Notepad to open the DrWeb.cvs report)

Also post a new Hijackthis log please.
Let me know how your pc is running now.

Hi:

Downloaded Dr Web and rebooted into safe mode.

Checked the items in HiJack this and click fixed.

Scanned with Dr. Web. The first scan had c:\program files\norton antivirus\advtools showed up and Dr. Web under the status said probably backdoor trojan. I was unsure what to do, so I deleted. Probably shouldn't have, but I did.( Norton seems to be running fine, but did have to reboot twice as first time after completing all steps, it was turned off. ) If I need to reinstall I can if you think I should.

Here is the Dr. Web Log:

advchk.exe;c:\program files\norton antivirus\advtools;Probably BACKDOOR.Trojan;Deleted.;
GTDownAO_106.ocx;C:\Program Files\Common Files\AolCoach\en_en;Adware.Gdown;Incurable.Moved.;
LGONUI~1.VIR;C:\QooBox\Quarantine\C\Program Files\FNTS~1;Adware.ClickSpring;Incurable.Moved.;

Here is the HiJack this log (after the 2nd reboot)

Your log is clean
If all's ok,please do the following:

Find and delete:
Combofix
Avenger

C:\Avenger
C:\BFU
C:\Documents and Settings\userprofile\DoctorWeb

*******************

Turn 'System Restore' back on:
Right click on 'My Computer' and select 'Properties'.
Select 'System Restore'.
Unselect 'Turn Off System Restore On All Drives'.
Select 'Apply',then click 'Ok'.

Create a new 'System Restore' point:
Click on Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore.
In the 'System Restore' window, click 'Create a Restore Point' button, then click 'Next'.
In the window that appears, enter a description, then click on 'Create',then click 'Close'.
The date and time is created automatically.

Next click on Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Disk Cleanup.
The 'Select Drive' box will appear, click on Ok.
The 'Disk Cleanup for [C:]' box will appear, click on the 'More Options' tab.
At the bottom in the 'System Restore' window, click on the 'Clean up...' button.
A box will pop up 'Are you sure you want to delete all but the most recent restore point?',click on 'Yes'.
Click on 'Yes' at 'Are you sure you want to perform these actions?'.
Now wait until 'Disk Cleanup' finishes and the box disappears.

Read through the information found here,to help you prevent any possible future infections.

Thank You...That's wonderful news and I sincerely appreciate your help. I performed the above actions and created a new system restore.

I did want to ask, when I was deleting c:\Avenger and c:\BFU, I noted a folder C:\Qoobox. I did nothing with it. Is that supposed to be there???
