Slow Shutdown

I am running Winxp with sp2 and have recently experienced a long shutdown time ( around 90 secs )
I have tried closing all running programs including anti-virus and firewall before shutdown but this seems to make no difference
Can anyone help me with this problem

try uphclean it forces any user accounts or programs to close at shutdown

I tried all the suggestions and it was UPHCLEAN that fixed the problem
