I have XP- Comcast - McAfee - PeerGuardian2 - Vidalia bundle ie." Tor, Privoxy Tor button for firefox " I went to Shields UP http://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?rh1dkyd2 and ran the port scan and it said i failed based on this ............................................... GRC Port Authority Report created on UTC: 2007-06-14 at 04:44:13

Results from scan of ports: 0-1055

0 Ports Open
0 Ports Closed
1056 Ports Stealth
---------------------
1056 Ports Tested

ALL PORTS tested were found to be: STEALTH.

TruStealth: FAILED - ALL tested ports were STEALTH,
- NO unsolicited packets were received,
- A PING REPLY (ICMP Echo) WAS RECEIVED. Im not sure if im doing something wrong or if its a false positive because of the Tor onion routing , PeerGuardian or something else ..If anyone any suggestions id love to hear about them. I am worried about not being protected. When I ran the "Whats My IP" scan it displayed a different IP than mine so, I know the Tor package is working at least in some ways. I actually did the port scan before i installed the Tor package and it came back stealth. So what gives ? Thanx -RAY-.......... just ran another scan and now it says this -----------------------------------------------------------------

While not at all familiar with this, I'll speculate that you failed because none of your ports were Closed (allowing access to your system through them if the Stealth is defeated).

Dunno if this has to do with the PeerGuardian2 - Vidalia bundle or not. I'd suggest making a visit to their forums or to the Shields Up forums to pursue this. Please post back if you find the resolution there (or even if you don't).
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

I have traced the problems to the installation of the outpost firewall . All that is free is not always good. Spend a few dollars and get a firewall that plays well with others.. -RAY-
