I am trying to run a windows repair on a laptop that won't start windows in any mode. The problem is that the windows screen freezes before any options show up... I've saved the contents of the hard drive to another computer but I'm not able to reformat the drive either since I can't get in without it freezing. Any ideas?

If you have an XP CD you can boot from the CD and reinstall the OS. Or you could wipe the drive with a UBCD before reinstalling.
The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who haven't got it.
