I am having a difficult time loading BC.Mostly in the Seconds, but lately it can take up to 3 minutes for no reason I can see my end. When this happens I check the Graph of what's running and absolutely nothing dragging my CPU's.For EG.I immediately click on say CNET or Boardtracker and they load within 5-10 Seconds. So I can't see it being anything my end.I PM'd some other members and they are having a headache trying to load BC at times too. Is this problem known to BC Admin?

Yes. I posted about this problem recently. Trying to log-in or post a reply can take minutes sometimes, as opposed to the normal few seconds. Does anyone have a theory?

Especially if you're gonna post a reply and it won't respond and you don't want all of that to go away
just create a new notepad and copy/paste it there

I am wondering why should this be necessary. Thanks for the work around,'Commander Gman'
This still does not explain the slow load times, only helps with posting.

Well.....
One blind guess would be so many users active?
I just noticed that before it used to be around 300-400 users about 2-3 months ago,but now it went up to 600 users

I think you are more than likely right G-Man, when I worked with the computer system at the bank if we had too many people trying to input work at the same time it would really slow the whole system down to a crawl, pretty much the same as we get here with slow response time.
Tell me and I forget ;Show me and I may remember;involve me and I"ll understand.

The site server is being updated at the moment, so I'm quite sure that things aren't exactly how they're meant to be. The server is being upgraded to one which is a whole lot faster, and will mean that hopefully the site can function with many more users than it has been able to before. Having said that, I'm not sure what Grinler is doing with the servers at the moment, ie whether he has installed it yet, or whether he is in the process of installing etc.. I'll direct him to this thread, hopefully he'll have a better answer.

If you experience slow downs throughout the day at different times then let us know. I haven't had any slow downs except on the hour about 4 times a day; at these times the site is being backed up and it slows to a crawl. I'm not sure of the exact times, but it's something like 9am, 1pm, 6pm and 2am on GMT. At these times, the site will more or less not function at all for about 3-4 minutes, while the site is being backed up.

I've experienced the same problem, too.

Most times, the delay goes away and everything is fine within a few moments.

If it happens when I'm posting, I've noticed that if I just "wait it out", I don't lose the post, at least so far anyway.

In any case, it would seem prudent to wait until the switch to the new server. If we still have the problem, then, it may be worth trying to track down.

That's my two cents.

I know you think you understand what you thought I said,
but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant!

Hi Guys...the problem is we are outgrowing our current server. New server is being prepped and going in this week. No hard date yet. Once the new server is in, we will no longer have these problems.

That's great news. Thanks Grinler.

The frustrating thing was not knowing why.

Cheers
