Hello everybody.

I am new to this site, but I see that you have helped many laymen like myself with computer virus issues. I hope I can also recieve your advice and better protect myself. I have gotten this nasty outerinfo infection and have been trying to rid it from my computer. I have run spybot search and destroy as well as AVG, and can't seem to stop whatever it is from slowing my computer as well as it blocks certian programs from running. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. here is my hijackthis log.

Hello,

I notice from the log that there are running more than one different Anti-Virus programs with Auto-protect enabled. AVG Antivirus and NOD32
Never install more than one Antivirus and Firewall! Rather than giving you extra protection, it will decrease the reliability of it seriously!
The reason for this is that if both products have their automatic (Real-Time) protection switched on, your system may lock up due to both software products attempting to access the same file at the same time.
Also because more than one Antivirus and Firewall installed are not compatible with eachother, it can cause system performance problems and a serious system slowdown.

So you have to make a decision here and keep the Antivirus you prefer and uninstall the other one.
Then reboot after uninstalling.

Then, * Download Combofix to your desktop.
Doubleclick combofix.exe
Follow the prompts.
Don't click on the window while the fix is running, because that will cause your system to hang.

When finished and after reboot (in case it asks to reboot), it should open a log, combofix.txt.
Post this log in your next reply together with a new hijackthislog.
Do NOT post the ComboFix-quarantined-files.txt - unless I ask you to.

I unistalled the NOD and left the AVG program. I then ran the combofix which you told me to install to the desktop. When the cpu rebooted it briefly posted a log, but then the trojan shut it down. So I reran the program and here is the log that followed. I will also try to post the hijack this log, the problem is when I run the hijackthis program the trojan/virus keeps quickly closing the program...so I have to try to click the scan button and copy the log before it shuts it down. Another thing is that when I rebooted the cpu it said that my windows didn't detect a firewall, so I enabled the windows firewall. Let me know what I can do from here. Thanks in advance.

Here are the logs. When my cpu reboots it continues to turn off my windows firewall. Should I keep tuning this back on or leave it off?

Hi,

Do not worry about the Firewall now - we'll have to get rid of malware first, because as long as malware is present, you won't be able to properly restore other things..

Open the "ComboFix-Do.txt" you created previously and delete its contents.

Then, copy and paste next contents in it:

File::
C:\WINDOWS\system32\utstv.bak2
C:\WINDOWS\system32\xaoxuqqd.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\utstv.ini2
C:\WINDOWS\system32\vtstu.dll

Registry::
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{7003DDD5-30F6-49F6-9A5D-48579F8FEA19}]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\winlogon\notify\vtstu]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\winlogon\notify\hp]

Then drag the ComboFix-Do.txt into ComboFix.exe again.

This will start ComboFix again. After reboot, (in case it asks to reboot), post the contents of Combofix.txt in your next reply together with a new HijackThislog.

Hi,

Ok, one more edit of the ComboFix-Do.txt..

So open ComboFix-Do.txt, delete its contents and copy and paste next in it:

File::
C:\WINDOWS\system32\suieecdw.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\utstv.bak2
C:\WINDOWS\system32\gisrcyia.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\utstv.ini2

Then drag it again in Combofix.exe and post the log together with a new HijackThislog. (Hope that will be the last time now)

Hi,

No need to fix anything in HijackThis, since we already removed the registry entries via the ComboFix-Do.txt.

Your HijackThislog looks clean again.

Delete next folder: C:\Qoobox

Now concerning your Firewall... Actually it would be better if you installed a desktop firewall, which is more powerful than the Windows Firewall.
Look in my signature below under Firewalls for the ones I recommend. Only install one!
Also read this: Understanding and using firewalls
