Hi eveyone
I have run Avast and it found a lot of Trojan horse virus. I send them to chest but
the computer keeps on getting infected. I ran a rootkit and found two rootkits but I
don't dare to delete them since I don't know if those files are important. I found out
in the forum about running the hijackthis and I downloaded it. Here is the logfile.
I hope you can help in knowing what I can delete.
Thanks a lot.

Your log has some missing entries, and that may be a sign of some malware which intentionally hides from HijackThis.
However, there is a way around this.

Please open the folder where you downloaded HijackThis:
C:\Documents and Settings\Rosa Alonso.COQUI\Desktop\HijackThis.exe

Right-click HijackThis.exe, and select: Rename
Rename Hijackthis.exe to HJT.exe, or something similar.

Please post a new log, and let's see what shows up.

Hi
I don't know if I did this right since I don't know much about
computers. I went to my desktop and renamed the hijackthis installer
and installed it again and renamed the hijackthis icon on the desktop
and ran it again and this is the new log.
If I did wrong please explain me how to open the folder where I downloaded
hijackthis.

Thank you so much!
Wonderful. My complements.
haydee

I have another problem that maybe you can help. The computer that was infected is my daughter's.
Now My computer has a problem. I ran a spyware program to check for malware.
I had Avast installed in it too. When I ran the program ( honestly I don't remember if it was a-square
or SUPERAntyspiware ). The thing is that the program found 340+ objects.
Without focusing in what I was doing I clicked quarantine and all of a sudden
I got a blue screen. Avast didn't warn me of a virus. I then rebooted my
computer and before my eyes appeared all the files of my computer being deleted and I got
a blue empty screen again. No desktop icons, no start, no time clock.
I clicked Ctrl+Alt+del and I got the task manager. I clicked on file and got the new task slot.
I wrote word desktop and it gave me a box with my desktop icons icons . From there I can reach
the internet but once I close the small box all I have is my blue scree.
Any idea of what happened? I know I lost majority of My documents files.
thanks a lot,
haydee

4haydee,

Your daughter's computer is not in the clear yet.

Please provide the reports requested in my previous post!!

As far as your computer goes, what comes to mind is to restore Windows XP to a previous restore point.
To do this, you need to open the System Restore Utility
To open the utility, go to Start > Accessories > System Tools
Then click on the System Restore icon

Select the button that is labeled: Restore my computer to an earlier time
Next, select a restore point.
If a particular day has any restore points created on it, the date shows in bold.

If this issue happened just recently, you do not need to go back too far.

Have to go out for a while, but will be back later.

Hi
Thanks a lot for your help.

To do this, you need to open the System Restore Utility
To open the utility, go to Start > Accessories > System Tools
Then click on the System Restore icon
Select the button that is labeled: Restore my computer to an earlier time
Next, select a restore point.

I have a blue empty screen. No icons, no start button and no time clock.
So I press Ctrl+Alt+del and get the task manager. In new task I write desktop
and I get the desktop box. I see that a lot of my files desappeared from "My Documents".
Also some are missing in the desktop.

Since I don't have start I don't know how to get to Accesories to get to the System Restore Utility.

From Task Manager > Applications tab, select: New Task
In New Task, copy/paste the following:
control sysdm.cpl,,4

Another whirl:

Task Manager > Applications tab > New Task
Type in: restore
Click: OK

In the Restore window, double-click: rstrui (System Restore Application)

See if that takes you to the System Restore window.
If so, select: Restore my computer to an earlier time

Letís hope you have some restore points.

Hi thanks a lot.
In the mean time I do that I'm sending you the Hijackthis report from the other computer.
I ran the VundoFix and it didn't find anything. I ran the Fixwareout and immediately I had warnings of Trojans trying to enter the computer ( I got the warning from my antivirus Avast and the firewall protection) I was confused and I let access to the first two Trojans but then when I saw that more were coming I blocked the access and stopped the scan. Then I ran the Avast scan and it found the two trojans I allowed access to. I moved them to the chest. The two viruses were:
C:\_OTMoveIt\MovedFiles|windows\itidsmlmy.exe Infection Win32A
C:\_OTMoveIt\MovedFiles\..\T1QaSQ1065.exe

Now here is the Hijackthis report
http://www.4shared.com/file/18144647/e1840...kthis_LAST.html

I'm going to follow yor instructions for the other computer and will get back to you.
Thanks again

Is not working, I wrote the word restore and It gives me the same desktop box with the word restore
instead of desktop. It doesn't give me the restore window.
