I was using google for this and that, and come across a German (I think) HJT site. So I gave google the option to translate it to English for me.

Here are a few quotes from it.

3. IMPORTANTLY!! THERE IT IN THE MEANTIME SEVERAL HARMING PROGRAMS CREATED CREDIT,
UNDER HIJACKTHIS NO MORE DISCOVERED TO, MAN ONE THE FILE SHOULD NOT
HIJACKTHIS.EXE RENAMING.

Okay has then still ne asks should I all old files of hijackthis delete. And which please Hijackthis log file with head is called - which asks for ne head, probably ne sow-stupid lol….

I'm not really interested in what It should say, but rather does Google translate English into Non-English equally as bad, I only do English so cant answer this one for myself, so relying on others to help me out.

Ive used Google translate a few times and it is pretty chronic, it does make me chuckle at how the translations come out though, great fun when I'm extremly bored or drunk.

If your really interested.

It is no better, from what I can tell, when it translates English into French, although there is more similarity between the sentence structure than with German.

ho ho ho, behold TSG is coming

If it gives you an answer - I NEVER EVER use google to translate sites :flowers:
I have an extension in FF that uses google translate - but only for SINGLE words. If you select sentence segments, it stuffs up again.
Google basically uses online translation services such as leo.org to translate words and puts it together in sentences AFAIK.

Now about that site. It is a HJT site - its like THE HijackThis site in Germany lol ( I am registered there).

3. WICHTIG !! DA ES INZWISCHEN MEHRERE SCHADPROGRAMME GESCHAFFT HABEN,
UNTER HIJACKTHIS NICHT MEHR ENTDECKT ZU WERDEN, SOLLTE MAN DIE DATEI
HIJACKTHIS.EXE UMBENENNEN.

Translates to (if the silly german translates by himself):

3. Important!! One should rename HijackThis.exe, since several malware programs have managed to hide themselves from HijackThis.exe

You can expect too much from google translations, it's a computer program not a german speaking person.
Most of the times google gets the order of words of wrong such as german may have the verb in different places than english

Just curious -

does AltaVista's Babel Fish translator do any better?

No, not really.

Unless you have some vague knowledge of the original language, or are reading something simple ("see John run! Oh! Oh! Look! Look!"), neither are reliable.

OK I'm copy-and-pasting this as I go. I'm going to say something in English, translate it to German, back to English, then to about 5 other different languages and see what the outcome is in English after all that.

Quote English: Pie is fun. Pie is good. Pie is easy to make. Everyone loves pie.
Quote German: Torte ist Spaß. Torte ist gut. Torte ist einfach zu bilden. Jeder liebt Torte.
Quote English: Cake is fun. Cake is good. Cake is simple to form. Everyone loves cake.
Quote French: Le gâteau est amusement. Le gâteau est bon. Le gâteau est simple pour former. Chacun aime le gâteau.
Quote English: The cake is recreation. The cake is good. The cake is simple to form. Each one likes the cake.
Quote Russian: Мест отдыха. Торт хорошо. Торт очень прост в форме. Каждый любит торт.
Quote English: Seating rest. The cake well. The cake is very simple in form. Everyone loves cake.
Quote Spanish: Resto del asiento. El pozo de la torta. La torta es muy simple en forma. Cada uno ama la torta.
Quote English: Rest of the seat. The well of the cake. The cake is very simple in form. Each one loves the cake.

Now I know what I'm going to do when I'm bored, like right about now.

Thank you.

Here, I'm going to translate it in and out of every language there, see what happens.

English: When Astronauts Went Into Space, by George Bush
English: When I went to the astronauts, from George Bush
English: When I came to the astronauts, from Bush
English: When I came in the astronauts, of Bush
English:When I came into the astronauts, of Bush
English:When I have entered in the astronauts, of Bush
English:I being the astronaut, when entering, the bush
English:It is a case which will enter, I bush astronaut,
English:It is a case that enters, astronaut of the shrub of I,
English:It is a case that enters, astronaut from the bushes at I
English:It is a case that enters, astronaut of the shrubs in I

LOL way to go, Google, a new way to pass the time.

...ich habe versucht die dateien hochzuladen bei virustotal finde sie aber nicht...

Google translation:
I do not have try the files to high-load find it with virus total however...

My translation:
I haven't tried to (??? my germans not that good, lol) the files to totally find the virus, however...

It's something along those lines. Not bad for someone who taught themself german, eh? :flowers:

Regards,
TheYoda

EDIT: A side note. The reason the Google translates so bad is because it takes out the words, translates it and puts it back. The same words mean different things or are translated differently when in the appropriate context. Google, and almost all other translaters, take the words out of context and make them wrong.

Also, the reason spanish and french and the latin-based languages are like that is again, they have a different grammer than English (ie, The red house in spanish is The house red) and its out of context and actually quite funny. Someone who doesn't know about the different grammers and the flaws of the translaters would think, wow this guy sucks at talking!
