Help Please With Engine Error

I would be grateful for some technical help. I have Norton 360 installed. Yesterday, the fraud monitoring band (which has always been green) started going red every time I change page in any web page (including Google) As soon as I'm in the page, the bar turns green. Sometimes, access is being blocked to certain website saying their security certificates have expired (such as Hotmail!). The red bar doesn't stay up long enough for me to click on it to see it there's a help menu. Only once hasit told me to restart the browser, which I did and it keeps happening. I've run a full system scan which hasn't shown anything. I am concerned about what's causing it. Does anyone have any ideas? Many thanks.
