Hello!

I have another virus.

Here is wat is has been doing to me.

The computer crashes when I have heaps of stuff going on, i think most pages with 'hijackthis' mentioned on it are refreshed and stopped before any text is written, i get redirected to 'www.antispyware.com' randomly, even from the desktop. The computer is painfully slow, from the task bar there is a "Windows" (pfft, yeh right) popup telling me I have spyware.. Little obvious, duhh.. or sometimtes it says "Your computer is working slowly!".

I'm pretty sure my Hijackthis log is clean as nothing came up when I ran it through an online analysis, but here it is anyway.

Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1

Download\install 'SuperAntiSpyware Home Edition Free Version' from here:
http://www.superantispyware.com/downloadfi...ANTISPYWAREFREE

Launch SuperAntiSpyware and click on 'Check for updates'.
Once the updates have been installed,on the main screen click on 'Scan your computer'.
Check: 'Perform Complete Scan'.
Click 'Next' to start the scan.

Superantispyware will now scan your computer, when it's finished it will list all/any infections found.
Make sure everything found has a checkmark next to it,then press 'Next'.
Click on 'Finish' when you've done.

It's possible that the program will ask you to reboot in order to delete some files.

Obtain the SuperAntiSpyware log as follows:
Click on 'Preferences'.
Click on the 'Statistics/Logs' tab.
Under 'Scanner Logs' double click on 'SuperAntiSpyware Scan Log'.
It will then open in your default text editor, such as Notepad.
Copy and paste the contents of that report into your next reply.
Also post a new Hijackthis log,let me know how your pc is running now.

The computer is running fairly well at the moment. No Crashes, No Hijacks, Desktop appears to be back to normal.
but it looks like Superantispyware detected a fair few Trojan Downloaders. Does this mean a lot more work for us?

Also: On startup, my computer takes quite a while to load because of the amount of programs starting on startup, like QuickTime Player, ATI Catalyst Control Centre, "Sound Effect", MSN messenger, Superantispyware, AVAST, ATI Tray Tools, and some other stuff that I usually close.

How can I stop these from starting up when I turn my computer on?

Have Hijack This fix the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and selecting 'Fix checked'.
Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing:
O2 - BHO: msdn_lib.msdn_hlp - {38847C4B-1AB1-4A47-9026-9A6CF7B43D31} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\msdn_lib.dll (file missing)
Exit Hijackthis.

Hello,

Thankyou very much for your help getting rid of this virus.

I am pretty keen to learn to do it myself as this has happened more than once.

Is there somewhere I can learn what you guys know and maybe even help out here?
