Recently I've had problems connecting to networks with NetGear Routers (specifically the WGR614 v6 and the FSV318 v3) on networks with both Vista and XP systems. Generally the Vista systems will continue to work, while the XP systems can recognize the network but cannot connect. This occurs both on wireless and wired connections.
My supposition is that this is an issue with a Vista update and the NetGear routers. Both routers have updates to the firmware that were published on May 5, 2007. I upgraded the firmware on both routers and XP systems seem to be able to connect without issues now (it's only been a couple of hours for both networks).
I still have to setup my other WGR614 v6 as an access point (connected to the FSV318 v3) and my print server (WGPS606) to check on this further.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able. - John
