I followed this instructions in the Prep guide until #9 which is to d/l the hijackthis program and then save, unzip, close then start it to scan & save a logfile.
I've unzipped then closed, and when I try to start the program it goes back to the unzip screen. I don't know much about programming so Im sorry if this is a simple fix. I want to give you the info to better help my computer prob but I cant seem to get past this step.
My computer initially started having probs when the winantiviruspro2007 junk popped up and d/l itself.
In scanning the Smitfraud-C.Toolbar888 comes up and won't delete. There are others that come up but delete until the next start or online connection.
Plz let me know if you can help.
Thx!

You can also use the two programs below BEFORE posting a Hijack This log.

Please download http://www.atribune.org/content/view/24/2/
to your desktop.
Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
Click the Scan for Vundo button.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.

Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above
instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when
VundoFix appears at reboot.
