I was going to post this in the games section. But, It's not really the game I am having the trouble with as much as it is most likely my pc. I just got knights of the nine and I am trying to install this from the factory cd. I am following the instructions as they are quite simple. However, after updating my Oblivion game, step 1, my computer keeps giving me this message when I run the exe files for the mods (and please don't say try downloading from the net as that would be ugly with dialup. besides that's why you pay for the now opened software from the store. ). First the game tries to setup the installShield Wizard "please wait"...then right before it's done this pops up.........

An error (-5009 : 0x80004002) has occured while running the setup.

Please make sure you have finished any previous setup and closed other applications.
If the error still occurs, please contact your vendor: Bethesda Softworks
(##ID_STRING1##).

I don't have any thing else running at the time of setup so What's The Problem?!!

Have you got all the SP2 updates on your PC? The erorr code is a windows installer, this what I found on the MS site http://support.microsoft.com/kb/886630/en-us

If you are going to attempt the fix make a system restore point first.

Just so you know Monty, I did the fix and it went fine the first time. But, the second time in safe mode my computer permenently lost the files. I think because instead of just restart, I restarted in safe mode again. I wouldn't think that would affect it, but I don't know what else I could have done as I followed every other step exactly. The problem is, something is causing my system restore to be completely unresponsive but I can't identify what. Pop-up blocker maybe. Not sure. So now I can't restore to the restore point that I made before running the fix.

No. No error message at all. It's just like my search option in my start menu, when I click on it, nothing at all. I found out something interesting yesterday though, when I use the search in my window...it works..??
